I used to see videos and books by Dan and kind'a liked his style. He did some stuff with Denny Sturgis also. What ever happened to him,is he still active in archery or writing, videos? Just curious!

I had heard that he quit the archery world.  I will be curious to see your question unfold here.

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

Not sure if this had an impact or not but he did get involved with that issue over the "Rompola Buck" more than a few years back.  I believe he was a supporter of Rompola at a time when a lot of people were calling that bucks rack a fake,  not sure where that whole thing ended but I think it all ended badly for anyone associated with it.
Keep flinging those shafts!

At least he's still got the same knitted blue hat!  ;)

I always like the book he did on traditional bowyers.   I bought a copy back when it first came out and really enjoyed it.   When I look through it now I find it hard to believe how much time has passed---and how many profiled in it no longer make bows, and many 'new' bowyers have came along.

Are the 2 books different or just a new edition of the first one?

Cacciatore, I asked the same question when the second edition came out. The answer I got was that the books are essentially the same but the new edition has some updates on some of the bowyers.

Talked to a friend of Dans at Kzoo,he said Dan was doing well.
And yes, he still bow hunts.
He told me alot of things about Dan I did not know.
Dan is quite the guy,did you know he is a pilot and a anthropologist.

I really liked the book called "Fireside Tales" he wrote. Just good bowhunting short stories. Not much of that kind'a thing around.

I wish Dan were more active too! I have his books and the videos he was in.
