Well I have wanted to try this for awhile! My good friends who allow me to bowhunt their property in KY killed a couple of birds. I had asked for the right wings to make fletching, and since they are such nice folks for allowing me to chase critters with my longbow on their place, I got an idea to do this for them. Both Mike and Annie are "eat up" with turkey hunting and the lady hunts with a longbow alot of the time. I got to have them over for dinner and hunt with me in Illinois and suprised them with my yelpers. Not near the artistic talet as some (Guru you da' man) but loved using the bones to make something that my friends really enjoyed.

This is Annies. I put her favorite bible verse as well as a fish as she is a great fisherwoman.

Here's Mike's. A little more masculine with zebra bone beads and the place he killed his bird this year written on the side.

This really is easy. I think it's a great keepsake from a turkey, even if you never use it. Now if I could just kill a turkey I'd make one for myself   :knothead:

Very nice! I'm sure they loved them and will put them to good use.

Those are sweet!  Bet them make some alluring sounds as well....well to a gobbler that is.

Looks good Wapiti,
I've made several adn you can get a lot of tone variation out of 2 piece and 3 piece.

I'll give you a tip for tuning before glue up. Pack cotton good and tight in the gaps before you glue it and play with the length until you get your sound where you want it then you can glue it up.

The best thing about owning a dog is that someone is happy when you come home.

Looks great. Add some small wing feathers to the beads end (black/white).

Thanks Pat near C'dale...live in a little town called McLeansboro. I married a blue-eyed girl from these parts and she moved me from the land of cotton to here. Small world!

Thanks Curt! Looking forward to a build along you are rumored to might wanna do when you get time from doing Cade's fan mount. Congrats again!   :clapper:

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"
