As most of you know Fred Anderson is putting out a new book ( cant wait to read it) I loved his first one , The Traditional Way and have patiently been waiting for the new one, Toxicated, Treasury of Archery.
Fred will be here at Raptor Archery on May 8th along with Steve Gorr for what is sure to be a great seminar and will be signing books here to those attending that wish to purchase one. We will also be selling on our web site  www.raptorstore.com  starting now, those that place orders will have the book signed as well.

I got his first book right after it was released and he was at ETAR...think you were there that year too Ted.  Great book...humor, insight, and great story telling.

Will have to order one and get it signed..thanks for the update Ted.

Yeah Ron  , I was there , man that seems like a lifetime ago.
Yes Fred is a class act with some very good ideas, he has been through a lot in his many years in the archery industry.

Someone asked me about the shipping , shipping will be a flat rate of $7.00 for just one book, web site will say $11.00 as we have to average out for multi products orders , I will adjust for one book order to the flat rate of $7.00 USPS priority.

no matter what, what a great name for a trad archery book.    

I ordered mine tonight.  Sounds like a good read.  Wish I was closer, I'd be at there on May 8.  Is "toxicated" anything like "pixilated"?

I sure wish I was closer.  A rare opportunity having these three together in one place at one time.  A gathering you can tell your grandchildren about.  Don't  miss it.

No way Cliff , if you were here we wouldnt even see those guys , we would be to busy looking at all the old archery stuff.
Just a heads up that if you want to have Fred sign the book on Saturday you need to get your order in by tomorrow.

My daughter and son-in-law, who is my regular hunting pardner, plan to drive over from Portland for the affair and pick up a couple books for friends.  The last time I came through Hodd River, you were off hunting bear or something and we missed connecting.  I'll try again next time around.  We missed you but enjoyed a gang of windsurfers getting flattened.

Just a heads up for those coming from the WA side of the Columbia river, I would use SR-14 on the WA side and take the bridge at Cascade Locks , seems there is some bridge construction at the I-205 bridge. Heres a not that was passed to me , Thanks for the heads up Barry.

Crews are replacing the expansion joints on the I-205 bridge, again starting at 10 pm Fri. until 5 am. Monday. Two lanes will be closed. This will continue thru Sept. 27, but not on 7/4 or Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.



Last Saturday, the traffic across the bridge was backed up seven miles, and wait times of 2 hrs were a problem. It was complicated by a bridge lift on I-5, late Saturday, several accidents and congestion on surface streets in Portland.



Anyone planning to cross I-205 should use I-5, then I-84 in Portland, or get on SR-14 before the I-5 bridge and head up river to Cascade Locks (Bridge of the Gods), or to White Salmon and cross to Hood River.  Then use the same route coming back to go north.



I-205 to SR-14 should expect delays at the I-205 bridge; there may be a long wait getting off I-205 to get on SR-14.



Least desirable option is to leave I-205 at SR-500 (Orchards), head east to NE 162 Ave, then south to SE 1st St., turn left onto SE 1st St and follow it to Everett ST. then south into Camas.  At Camas get on SR-14 and head east. This route is probably the way I will go, to avoid possible congestion in Portland that occurred last weekend. Unless you are familiar with Vancouver and Camas or have a map, this route would be harder for anyone coming from the north.



Use SR-14 and cross at or cross at the Bridge of the Gods (Cascade Locks), or further up river at White Salmon and over to Hood River. Because SR-14 is only two lanes, is all curves, and there may be added traffic, this route could take another 30 minutes. There is usually one State Patrol and several County Sheriffs that get speeders on SR-14.



I completely forgot about the traffic nightmare last week because I did not use I-205 or I-5.  Many streets in Portland were clogged as people tried to get around the mess on I-205 and find a way over to I-5. You definitely want to avoid using the surface streets to get from I-5 over to I-84 which is the route in Oregon up to Hood River.
