Wanting to start chopping some feathers. Was wondering if there is a difference between tradional bananna or shield as far as performance or is it just personal preference. Really like the traditional but open to opinions thanks in advance. Magnus

I prefer the traditional cut as you do, purely aeshetic for me. If I were just starting and wanted to purchase 1 chopper I'd go with the bananna. In fact the more I use them the more attached I've become.

Cane and Magnolia tend to make good arrow.
Hike naked in the backwoods.

Cuts of like square inches of feather will perform the same.
Cuts with a trailing edge can make noise.
With that, make your choice.

it all depend on your style ... and pourpose!!! hunting : you want to be as quiet as possible !!!i like bannana but i like it lower profile than it come so i just adjusted my chopper as low as i could make it i might have modified it a little . but its sure quieter and flies great still.trad cut is sure pretty and sounds soooo cool rippin down the cource.  :bigsmyl:
form is everything! shoot well shoot hard.

Never knew about the trailing edge makin noise thanks guys. My purpose is for hunting. Still like trad look but doesn't seem practicle for hunting. Any one got Picts of bananna fletched arra's?

I have set my burner to a modified shield cut trying to get a little of the best of both worlds. 4" 4 fletch works for me.
