Until yesterday afternoon I had never laid my eyes or hands (in person) on a bow built by Wes Wallace. A friend of mine recently put his up for sale, and even though it was a little more weight than I usually shoot, it was a 62" bow and made totally out of macassar ebony. I couldn't resist the temptation and now own my very first "Mentor".

I also had recently obtained my first bow built by Norm Johnson and through several discussions with Tom about the similarities of the risers and grips on these two bows. He was absolutely correct when he said that it would point and shoot just like my "Snakebit".

I never had the opportunity to shoot my Mentor until earlier this afternoon.....and I absolutely love the way it points and shoots. It likes the AD Trad Lite Hammerheads with the same point weight that my Blacktail does. Man, I gotta tell ya.......there must be something in the water in the Pacific Northwest, these bows are SHOOTERS !!!!!

Thank-You.........ever so much Tom for allowing me to purchase this bow from you. It might be my first bow built by Wes......but......you can bet that it won't be my last.

Beautiful bow Don, can't wait to see her myself.   :readit:    :archer:    :biglaugh:
What would you attempt to do, if you knew you could not fail?

Never leave the one you love, for the one you like.

Sweet,beautiful looking wood,very nice!

You can sure see the Brackenbury influence in those two bowyers, Wess built bows for Jim before he started his own business and I believe that Norm also trained under Jim. Great bows.

I was a Wes Wallace dealer. Wes is one of the best guys out there. He'll stand behind his Bow's.  You sure have a Looker there, Enjoy....

Danny,

Tom and I were talking about the very same thing, he said that he was pretty sure that they both worked with Jim. All I know is that I sure do like what BOTH of them build.

Hmmmmmmmmm......might it be time to give a Brackenbury a try ????

I had a Wes Wallace longbow and still have a Brackenbury, both great bows and good shooters. My Brack is one made by Jim!

Congrats, Don. Beautiful bow for sure and you take nice pictures.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Shawn, it is I.....that should be thanking Tom for allowing me to be able to hang it on my bowrack. Those were "quickie" pictures, I can do better........but she looked SO GOOD just hanging there on that limb stub, I couldn't resist.
