Wow, I miss SD.  Lived there 1 yr in Rapid City area while in the Air Force before my trad days.  Was at full draw but no shot on antelope, missed my first compound bow buck and stalked nice 9 pt droptine in bed in fresh snow but no shot, should've pulled the trigger on my first whitetail (doe), did take my first Mulie doe with .270, my first pheasants and sharp tailed grouse, first Merriams (shotgun)...Custer state park-critters galore-- bighorn, elk, deer, antelope, bobcat, bison...mountain goats on Mt Rushmore...(none of which i hunted- just loved looking) ...on and on.  Man I miss it... good luck this season.

That's an incredible find !

I think Non Resident  tag are around $270.00 . I was gonna go there one year .I think that's a two year old price .

I was kidnapped and held hostage there for 16 years ,I guess that's why didn't go back fearful of the zorba ! LOL

Got a lot of memories of hunting some pretty big deer in SD. East and north of Huron SD. It was many many years back 76 to 85 .I remember seeing doe's that would make some bucks around here Look pretty small .Favorite spot over there was a stock damm (Water hole )Best memories in South Dakota were hunting with friends.

Wow!  Those are some nice finds!

Did you come across any winter kills in your part of the country while you are out wandering with your dog?

Are you spotting any of those with binoculars OR are you just out there poundin' the ground?

Shinken, I found some small ones and a few that had already lost their horns. It's not legal to pick up sculls in SD. I find some by glassing while walking around. It's open country where I live so glassing works good because its big country.

Nice collection, us Michigan guys wouldnt know much about shed antlers. In some areas, 95% of all bucks are killed every year (based on DNR study of the thumb area). Ive found 3 sheds in 28yrs of walking the woods in Michigan. 8^(
I'm not a "deer" hunter, I'm a bow hunter that occasionally shoots a deer.
