alright; which is the best r/d longbow???

Same issue here

I just sold my wheelie bow last weekend and have been looking at different longbows, I can't even sleep well figuring what to buy hahaha, I already read almost all of the 50+ "best longbow" trheads out there. Anyway my choices are narrowed to:

Treadway black swamp
Toelke whip
Mohawk
Maddog

So far Treadway is winning but since the waiting list on the treadway is long I might end up buying any of the others and ordering a Treadway for next year (unless I\\m lucky enough to found one ready)

just don't tell my girlfirend she thinks I sold my bow to get her a ring

A used one that shoots good for you.No surprises that way and no darn wait times.

Come to the State shoot in Hickory the end of May and you can shoot lots of different bows.

Robertson has a test program and a shorter waiting period for new, but for his super accurate bows, unless you have a 25" draw, you would want a 62" or 64".

Go to the Baltimore trad show this year and try a few of them. I recently found that the Leon Stewart longbow hits where I look, are fast, and can be as beautiful as your imagination can come up with. Stewart Archery has a shorter longbow named the Slammer Special. Have never shot one, but sure looks to be awesome. If it shoots like a Slammer you should not be disappointed.

A Frederick if you can find one, otherwise go talk to Ken Rohloff at Whippenstick Bows or Roy Hall at Navajo Bows.

I have shot the Centaur and the ACS and they are top notch. The are the second and third best R/D longbows I have shot.

The best one I have shot has been Super Shrew.

I ended up with a recurve though so that is what I use.

I was really hoping to hear Fedora Excellerator as I ordered one a couple of months ago.

In reality it doesn't matter as I have wanted a Fedora for a long time. A friend in Maryland has had one for 5 or 6 years and it is sweet shooting. Can't wait!! Thanks for letting me vent.

I only shot a few LB(Border,BW,GP,Samick). But I shot many Recurves and my goto bow(out of RC and LB) is my Zipper SXT Longbow foam/carb.

I have to say I love my Morrison 56" Shawnee and my Lost Creek 54" longbows. Both shoot great with no hand shock.
