Well this past wednesday John called me to let me know that my bow would be ready to ship early next week.  It's been a long wait and I'm looking forward to flinging some arrows.

60" Griffin, 53@28, actionboo limbs, black glass back, brown glass belly, Kingwood riser w/a purpleheart I-beam.

John was a little skeptical about the black/brown glass deal. Basically said if that's what you want!.  Well he said it came out better than he expected....said it definietly is a very unique bow.

So I'll post up some photo's when it arrives.

Sounds like a great combo    When did you order? Can't wait to see pics. I'm sure you won't be disappointed, Johns work is flawless.

Well I had originally ordered back in 4/2005.  John called me around 3/2007 to let me know he was ready to build it.  However, I had to tell him to put me on the back burner because I was between projects and was not quite sure exactly when I would be back to work.  John told me to just give him a call when I was ready to move forward.  Needless to say I kind of forgot about it.  So I finally called him in Feb/2010 and asked him where I stood on the list.  I guess it was because I had paid him partial $$$ that he wanted to get me off his list.  So we worked out the details and said he call me when it was ready.  I was expecting mid summer, but it will be ready to this coming week.

When speaking with John, I guess he does not take deposits anymore since his backlog is so large.  So I feel fortunate that after 5 years I finally will have one in my hands.  Yes, It would have been 2yrs, but like fine red wines some need to age more than others.

You definitely will not be disappointed with John's bows! I have four of them and my wife has one. All are great shooters and beautiful bows.

i know i'm envious as hell. you said he's not takeing orders anymore! :-( :-(

MSwickard

I guess I worded that wrong. I didn't mean to say he is not taking orders....he does not require a deposit.  You can still get your name on the list.  How long it will take I am not sure?
