One week from today and I'll be waiting for the sun to come up outside instead of sitting here at the computer at this hour.

Thanks for sharing!

Archery isn't something I do, it's who I am!
The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

I just love seeing more guys accepting the challenge of turkey hunting. Seeing success is even better.

You have my respect sir, Thursday morning I missed the only tom I've ever shot at with a bow.
On a side note, my buddy shot one last year that was solid rust red with blonde tips.

Now that's awesome, great stuff. Thanks for uploading all Jake. Is it normal for them to have a blond beard like that? Never seen that before.

Thanks for the kind words everyone, it was more than exciting and I can't wait to do it again!

Tom - I don't think it is, but I'm no expert.  This was the first one I had ever seen.

Way to go Jake!  Steve and I went out Saturday.  No blind, public land and a couple of decoys, amazingly I got a shot.  Unfortunately my top limb hit a branch and my arrow wobbled 3 feet over the back of a nice Tom.  Oh well. Congrats again.

I shot an Eastern here in MN a few years ago that had a blond beard also. About 3 inchs long on a bird that should have been a 3 year old. I was TOLD, told not me saying, it but it was probably an electic fence that caused it to burn off and turn color. I was also TOLD it could have been frozen off as we had a cold winter. That's the one I had seen before now. Congrats!

At least you had a good excuse for your miss, I just failed to pick a good spot.  Best of luck to you and Steve for the remainder of the season!
