Went out for a short jaunt the other day on some property that I hunt not too far from home. Not much snow left compared to a week ago.

My two scouting buddies then.

Lots of sign from the winter. Thought this was kind of neat. A Moose Rub and a Buck rub.

You can have either one walk by a stand around here. Makes for interesting hunting.

Daisy checking for SQUIRREL scent.

The dogs were obsessed with finding a SQUIRREL and kept looking up in the trees. I think they got this from the one that raids our bird feeder at home. I spotted this grouse after they were looking up at it.
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

We spent a couple of hours walking around. I started to make my way back to the truck when I was just about to step over a log and saw this half buried in the grass.

I walked past it to get a pix then had Parker retrieve it.
It took a few seconds but then I thought that it looked familiar.

On the way out the dogs found a bit of snow to cool off in.

When I got home I started looking thru some of my sheds barrels and found the match.

The right side I found in the winter of 2006. I killed the Buck in 2007. It was in the last week of the season with two unfilled Buck tags.

I'm suprised that it is in such good shape for laying out there for 4 years. It was bleached of course but chewed on very little. I've found other old sheds but never have a time reference as to when they may have been dropped.
Here is another for reference to the skull.

I figure he was a 3 yr. old when I shot him.
Thanks for looking.

Find a shed like that....with history......it would make me want to be out there every day.  Of course, then reality (things like work, etc.) would kick in.....but............
