The lower limb on my bow is twisted. So much so  that it unstrung at full draw.

Can I fix this?

frank bullitt

Yes Robert you ca fix it. do a search, alot of different ways to do. Also check over at the bowyers bench for answers.

If not to severe you can work it over by hand, just twist opposite direction. Remember it will take a little doing. It did'nt get that way overnight, probably.

Oh and should mention, make sure to string with a stringer.

Oh that's reason to buy a new one.   :goldtooth:

Depends on what caused the twist.  Most can be fixed, but if it was built with a twist or has damage to a lamination (weak spot), it will never stay "fixed".

Rarely will you need a heat source to fix a twist, if the limb is good.  If it was built straight and tillered straight, it will want to return to that position.  If you use heat, I wouldn't use anything hotter than tap water, else you can damage more than you fix.

Well I worked with it and got it straight, Drew it back and same thing. It twisted again and popped the string off.
It is straight unbraced and and strung, but twists when I pull it back and it stays that way.

Boxed up and shipped back to the bowyer. I hope he will fix it.
