I must have Fletched thousands of arrows with my Biz fletching jig all have been Right wing I never thought about Left wing would I have to buy a new Left Wing Fletching Jig or just a new left wing clamp? Blake

New Left Clamp AND Nock receiver too!     Ya Never have to buy Another one though!      

By the time you buy a new LW clamp and nock reciever,for me I would just buy another whole jig,it doesn't cost that much more.

People will tell you different........but for me, it is the clamp that makes the difference and not the receiver. I use my left clamp on my 'right' receiver whenever needed.

What's the difference between the 2 receivers?

I'm looking to buy my first Bitz today, for L/W fletch. Would I need a different receiver for 3 & 4 fletch?

rob I just bought a bitz last year and I DO NOT need another receiver for 4 fletch. Bjorn how old is your?  Mine has 3 different settings, 4 fletch at 90 degrees, 3 fletch at 120 and 3 fletch at something like 75 and 115?  But I do flu flus in mine all the time(btw mine is a left wing jig)

Interesting.........my jigs are likely 40 years old, and do have the selection for '4 fletch' on the jig too. I select that and insert my 4x90 receiver; and that is not required?

Rob, I have a bitz jig and can do 3 or 4 fletch, left or right wing by only changing the setting on the jig and using appropriate clamp. Like Chris said.

Bjorn, from bitz's website: "Feather spacing of 3 fletch 120", 4 fletch 75" x 105", and 4 fletch 90 degrees can be selected by a slight screw adjustment. Optional nock receivers available to achieve 60" x 120" 4 fletch or 120 degrees 3 fletch cock vane down or up." Mine is only about 15 years old but you don't need the insert for 4x90, just adjust the setscrew accordingly.

The only reason for the left versus the right nock receiver is to have fixed nocks rotated to the correct position.  If you have rotatable nocks, either nock receiver will work just fine for either right of left feathers, and all you will have to do is change clamps between right and left helical and adjust the settings on the jig to get the feather laying properly on the shaft.     (I just had to use the new Graemlin!)

I bought my first Bitz back in the late 80's.  At that time there was just the standard nock receiver, no left or right.  The L and R indexers were made to clock the fletchings just a bit for better cable clearance with the new confound arrow slinging machines.  If your indexer doesn't have a letter stamped on the flat, it is the original standard indexer and it will work with left or right helical clamps just fine.

Rob, if you buy a new left helical Bitz, it will come with a left indexer.  A straight clamp jig will come with the standard.  My rec is to go with the left.
