Does anyone know if you could get 2 six inch feathers out of one full length to make flu flus?Or even 5 inch would work.

5" ya might get 2 out of, but 6" I really Doubt it. Heck, Just wind a Whole Full-Length Feather Around that Arrow!! Get All Ya Need, and then some with That Bad Boy!!

Much of the new full length feather stock now is what is called commercial grade.  It's shorter than the stuff available a few years ago. Difficult to even get two good four-inch feathers out of them now.  Wild turkeys still live long enough to grow 12-inch plus feathers though.

Thanks for the help i think i might try wrapping the whole feather around

I remember years ago full feathers were 12-13" long, these days they are sometimes 9-10" and maybe 11" long. You can make a flu flu with one feather doing a spiral flu flu.Or you can just make them 4x4" to 4.5" feathers work great too. There is no real set rules on the length of a flu flu because they are so tall.I mean I have tried to see how far they will fly and they would not hardly go 50-65 yds even with 4x4" feathers.

I have been happily chopping and fletching on 6 dozen arrows and can tell you.  Most full length fletch you will get 2 - 4 inch, 3 - 3 inch, and only one 5 or 6 inch fletch out of them.  The commercial grade fletch available is simply not long enough to get 2 5 inch fletch out of.
