They just posted the 2010 Bear Hunt regs, the DNR has really cut the permits down:( I called and asked for the reason! They put me on the phone with some big shot who worked with the lotteries! He claimed that the state probably has 25,000-30,000 bears, but the number of applicants is slipping and the success rates arent what they expected! The last 2-3yrs have been tough due to the late spring pushing the berry crop back into bear season. This year could be a good one though, my group has pref. points and the spring is way early too! Also with the DNR cutting the permits down, competition will be reduced! Life is good

I really want to get out this year to bear hunt. I want to try to find a few people to get out and do it. I am sure it would be a lot of fun. Plus I need to try to find some land to go to.

I know that. But not sure if I want to put in lottery. Plus want to find a few people first. Not to fun to do by yourself. Plus a lot of work by yourself.
