In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

This is like sitting in your stand as the magic time comes and goes but you just know something is coming... Come on Pete I ain't ready to climb down and give up just yet.
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight;nothing he cares about more than his own personal safety;is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Pete, AWESOME story. Looks like there is majic in those woods. Hands down best story I've ever read on any site any time!! You've got all  of us sitting on the edge of our seats for your next post. Thanks for taking us along.

Ok, I'm dying over here...... Suspense is worse then waiting for that big buck to come in.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

how did i miss this thread?

best of luck with the hunt pete.
i can just imagine our ancestors passing on the hard earned knowledge of hunting areas and techniques from the old to the young, just as joe did to pete. knowledge that was passed on in the confidence that it will be acted upon in good faith. knowledge that only gets passed on to someone who has earnt the respect of the elders.

and so a tradition continues............

this is the epitome of traditional bowhunting.
Thick fog slowly lifts
Jagged peaks and hairy beast

How did this end up on page 2?  Patiently waiting, sort of.

The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Hey guys, sorry if it seems i have neglected this thread...its november and the bucks are on the move.  A while back i said i had some friends up from MI and I had to get them on deer. I will post some pics of a legit 300 pound live weight deer that we got with stickbow and we can go from there.
