I am pretty much a rookie hunting turkeys. I just bought some mouth diaphragm calls and was watching this video.  Then I start using my mouse on this computer, which has the roller controll thingy on it, and I'm thinking "wow, that mouse can sound like a turkey cluck if I just go slow, then speed it up..."  Yeh, I know...got it bad.

I know what you mean.I work on cars for a
living and lately some of the cars I work
on and the tools I use have been making
turkey sounds.I too "got it bad"

I`ve been practicing on a wingbone call lately.I think they`re harder to learn than a regular mouth call.

Yeah, I know what you guys mean. I have never hunted turkey a lot but got all fired up this year due to the large number of birds seen on my property. I hunted Saturday, and could get him to talk to me but he never came in. Then on Sunday, I could not hunt but was was standing in my son's yard and looked down the tree line toward my blind location. A turkey walked right past the blind. Its a good thing I can't throw a rock that far, or I would have resorted to a really ancient hunting method.

Yup, spring is in the air, and the turkey addicts are all getting that red-eyed gaze from all the sleep they're losing.  Isn't it great?

I scratched the itch by taking my son hunting during the youth season. He finally scored after two misses. Pretty good for him to have three differnt birds come in under 15 yards in the same morning.

I've been out once and I'm going again the last of the month.

Put my cameras out last Thursday.  It was about three in the afternoon.  For giggles I hit the mouth call once while leaving the woods.  Needless to say, I was answered and he was under 100 yds.  Every hair on my body stood up.  I snuck out of the woods grinning from ear to ear.  Can't wait for Saturday.

...and I thought I was the only "bird-brain"! haha  I was outside of town a ways on an appointment and spotted a couple of jakes. Got near them and everytime I hooted they would gobble. Fun!

The DSD decoys work even if you have a nock sticking out one end and a woodsman sticking out the other. My son got feathers on the 1st bird I called in. He shot thru the DB strap which sets the window opening and into my DSB. I about cried. I was afraid to remove the arrow since there numerous birds still out in the field. I called in a 3rd bird which was one step in front of the DSD when my son nailed it.
