A couple of weeks ago Bob at Surewood shafts went out of his way to put together a couple of dozen 60-65# 421-431 gr. shafts for me quickly and got them to me quickly. I ended up not getting to them untill tonight and when I was eye-balling them for straightness to pick the nock end I was surprised to discover that every shaft was just plain straight and either end was good on every one. On top of this, I just finished staining them and noticed again how well that distinct, attractive grain takes the stain. I'm not above complaining when I'm not happy with a product but I find it hard not to like everything about the Douglas Firs from Surewood

Another "Surewood Shaft Moment"....it's a beautiful thing! Straight, beautiful, durable...and made by good guys!

Yup! They're a good quality shaft and they go out of the way to make sure you're happy with your shafts...they back up their product and are very helpful on odd orders.

Just ordered some shafts from surewood.  Got to chat with rourke about spine and such, fantastic guy.  Just wanted to mention how nice he was to a newbie.  If the shafts are half as good as his customer service I'll be happy.

Rourke is a great guy to deal with. I live about 10 min. down the road so no worries for me if I run out. The shaft will be everything you've heard or I'll eat my hat!   :bigsmyl:

I will 2nd what others have already said. Snag had a thread some time ago on Surewoods and I happened to be in need of a batch so I took the plunge. Have not looked back since. Nice and straight and really make me look good as an beginning arrow maker.

Thanks Snag and big thumbs up for Surewood Shafts!

I have never seen the Surewoods. i have been shooting hexpines for some time, and really like them. But, being one who likes to experiment with stuff, how do these compare to the hexpines as far as bare shaft weight, and ease of straightening? Right now I'm shooting a 5/16 50/55 hexpine cut to 27 1/2 BOP with 200 gr on the tip. They weight right close to 620 gr. Are the Surewoods about the same, heavier or lighter than the hexpines?
