20+ years ago I had a Loc on Spirit but it was stolen several years later.  I really liked it but I replaced it with other brands and models thinking they were out of business.  I just searched the web and found they are making them again.  I wondered, has anyone recently bought one and are they just as good as they once were?

Don't know about the new ones but I've been using a loc on climber and a "Lem" for 20+ years and I can't tear em up.

yep they are still the same!  light weight and fast to set up.

Never used the old ones but I sure like the new ones. As previously stated, they are extremely lightweight and the easiest stand to put up I've ever used.

Have 2 Lems and 2 Spirits, all purchased in the 80's.
Still think they are the best stands I've ever used.Haven't tried one of the new ones yet but have been considering getting one.

I've also been using a tree suit and a sneaky sak for traveling, really light weight and compact, can be worn in to the woods or easily carried in a small backpack.

Same here,have two Limits I hunt from and love them. About seven and a half pounds, why would anyone carry something else, much heavier.

I too still use a LEM but I think the new ones have taller seats, which is good.

I used the Limits for years. The easiest stand I've ever had to put up. Unfortunately, as I've gotten older, I needed to go to a larger platform.

Appreciate the info,  I might have to get another for this fall.  If anyone has bought a new one, did you order direct from them?

I had an old Super Spirit I bought about 20 or so yrs ago and left it in a tree in Greenswamp WMA in Fl. Sure wish I had it now, but was in a hurry to move to Illinois and didn't have time to make the trip to get it. The older model Super Spirit is not like the one they make now..was just a larger platform, but still real light.

We use to make stands just like those in Ga. back in the 70's only we used conduit. Very easy stands to hang.

I'm probably going to get another one this summer.

Have never found anything lighter that a LocOn Windwalker - 5.5 lbs.  I still use one Spirit, but have change to almost totally to Lone Wolfs.  I like the capability of putting it on a leaning tree.

I have used 2 LEMs for over 20 years. This past season I bought a new cloth seat for one and a padded, flip-up seat for the other. I finally got tired of making seats from old blue jean legs. They work as good as the day I bought them.

Love me some Windwalkers... old and new, they just cant be beat.

Still have 2 Limits I've had since the '80s.Light and easy to set-up but the platforms are small.Had to replace the seats because of squirrels and weather taking their toll.Had 2 Limits and a Lem stolen over the years...liked the larger platform of the LEM better.

..I have a WINDWALKER (5 1/2 pounds)with the original backpack. I still use it all the time...Do they still make the windwalker

I used a Loc on back in the 80s.  I can't remember the name of the stand, but it was certainly light.  Hung it with a chain.

Sure wish I could remember what I did with that stand.

I've had a few Lem's and Spirits over the years. 6 or 7 total. I had two stolen 2 years ago and bought 2 more Spirits from a fellow TGer shortly afterwards. His were fairly new and didn't seem any different from the ones I had previously. Loc On's are great stands and I'm sure they haven't changed much, if at all.

A friend of mine bought one of the new limits. The biggest change was they went to a mesh platform instead of the "slats" that the older stands had. It only went up a hair in weight, but he prefers the older models when it comes to hanging it. He says the "slats" make it easier to grip when he's hanging on the side of the tree. The quality is still very good.

Loc-On treestands are some of the best stands on the market. I haven't seen any of the more recently manufactured models, but the ones from the 80s and 90s were great.  I had a Spirit with the "speed-hitch rope", but ended up selling it a year or so ago.  In my opinion, the rope was a lot easier and quieter then using the chain.

Then back in the mid 90s a sporting goods store in Jackson, MI had the Loc-On Limit on sale for $49.99.  My dad and I went down there and each bought one...now I wish I would have bought a bunch more.  The Limit is by far the most secure and fastest stand to hang from my experience.  I've kept it and can't see myself ever selling it.  I still have the Cabela's Trebark backpack for it as well...
