I was fortunate to attend the Texas class two weeks ago (the Perfect weather one)and really enjoyed it and learned a lot.. Now I have a "shot sequence" and it truly is working for me. Never shot better, already, and the best part of it is that now, when I screw up, I immediately know what I did wrong and can work on it to fix it. Mike, Connie and Jason really did a fine job of hosting, really good food and very nice people. All in all the class, Rod, was a great experience and money well spent. I encourage anyone wanting to improve their shooting, to sign up. Mike is a great teacher and spends quality time with each shooter to help ingrain new habits to replace the old ones.. (hey Allan)

19 more days to go and then I get to start slinging some arrows... I for one can't wait to burn in the right form and shot release.  After that it is going to be all fine tuning and that is a good place to be.  At least that is my goal  

anyone know where I can find the schedule for Rods clinincs in 2010.

Wouldn't mind getting to one if I knew when and where.

Rod was right, it's only been 3 days and I'm already sick of the blind bale. It's amazing that after only 3days/3hours that the changes seem to be becoming more automatic. 18 days sure is gonna be a long time!

You're getting me fired up fellas. My daughter and I will be attending Rod's April 10-11 clinic at Lancaster Archery Supply in PA. Any advice? I have too many bows and hopefully a new Dryad by then. Am I better off shooting a lighter bow?  Haven't been shooting much lately due to travel, winter and work. Hope I can last the weekend!

Take the lightest bow you own.  If it is not light enough, I'm sure Rod will have a few with him.

To Mike's "take the lightest bow you own" I'll add "take the longest arrows you own" too. At the end of Rod's coaching you will have very little shaft/point sticking out in front of your shelf. And like that "We're going to need a bigger boat" line from Jaws, you'll likely be thinking "I'm going to need a bigger arrow."

Yep Mike, thanks to Sweet Thing's accommodating nature, my draw elbow finally pointed west, while my nose pointed east.

You can believe what what Rod says. As Rod and I sat and talked in the past, he had tried to tell me many times about back tension. It never sank in, I could not understand. We were never able to work one on one, just talk about it.
Well, this past fall we had a couple of days to hunt together and communicate some more, and I was recently able to watch the new video, Master of the Barebow III.
Well, I have never been a great shot, my release always caused me problems.
After watching the video and doing as Rod suggested, My release has improved.
I recently shot at the Georgia State event, I tied for 3rd in men's longbow. That is very good for me.
If you have the opportunity to attend one of his classes, I encourage you to do so, he can help you improve.

I had to attend half the class on the " good weather" weekend and the other half on the take off a few jackets so you can shoot weekend. It was by far the best money I have ever spent. Iam getting alittle better every day, and feel more confident. If we can get enough people to request it we may be able to get wingnut to post the pic of him doing stick drawings of wildlife at the class- I think it was wildlife??? Anyway thanks Rod for the "hep" and let us know when you get back this way so we can all get together.

Yep the blind bale days are wearing thin.  I've had to amend mine as we are going pig hunting next week.  So we do our blind bale work and then tune broadheads.

Not working too bad.

No pics of the "goat" are allowed.  LOL

Dang you try to "hep" people understand the finer points of geometry and they can't see a goat in the pic.  LOL

No, I just dont think it is fare that one man has so many talents, ie artist,chef,boyer, guess I was just alittle jealous. Sorry, Iam going to bring my crayons to pig camp so if you get a chance maybe you could help me learn to draw a stick goat!
