Not looking for a comparative basis between members. I am just trying to guage what kind of a collection is 'normal' (Have to get the fiance used to this you know). Got my first recurve a couple weeks ago, and already have another one or two in my sights on top of that.

So, 2 questions 1) How many bows do you have in your collection

2) How many, or what % do you rotate (sell, trade, etc)?

longbowman

I have 12 and wish I just had one but it's too late now!

Gordy

One less than I need !   :D
or ... 3 recurves, 2 longbows.

Wish I could just stick to one, for about 2 seasons.  :\\

I hope you find the more than 5 is normal so I can tell my wife. She tells me all the time she wishes I were normal.

Much admire the confidence of the guy with one bow! Own 6 hunting Hill LB's & have never sold one from my stash in 32 years.

A dozen give or take one or two - I'd have to go downstairs and count to be sure.  In this context I have no idea what "normal" means.
Don't meddle in the affairs of dragons; people are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

I currently have 13. Six Pronghorn longbows, five Pronghorn recurves, a Bear Kodiak Mag, and a sweet osage static tip selfbow. I should be getting another from Herb this summer.

I have 5, 2 recurves and 3 longbows.  Well one longbow is my wife's, and one of the recurves is my bowfishing rig.

My feelings reflect those of Gordy's, "one less than I need"    :readit:    :D

'60 Kodiak, mid '60's Pearson Rogue, Wildhorse Creek (Kestrel), Mahaska LB, that's it at the moment, but I would like some more.

Son of Texas

7 longbows 4 recurves, I rotate with two of the longbows hunting and one for summer shooting. Three of the recurves I use for bowfishing. I don't think there is a normal.   :help:

SS Snuffer

4 recurves and 1 longbow. NOT ENOUGH!!!!
But will work on that!
Chuck
Kodiak Mag 52" 41 lb.
Kota Kill-Um 60" 42 lb.
Kanati 58" 38 lb.
Black Hunter Longbow 60" 40 lb.

I'd have to agree with SS Snuffer... NOT ENOUGH! But right now I have 16

Bowshot

around a dozen, maybe more if I get digging around.
Getting 2 new kwik styks this week and should be finishing a selfbow soon. 15 or 16 might be more accurate but I don't keep track. They keep piling up.

5 right now 2 have wheels though.
It's not about the kill but the experience.

I just counted 16 in my office at the house. And I believe there are another 33 or 35 neatly stored away at my climate controlled storage unit.

I guess this probably makes me AB-NORMAL, but i can say I have never yet sold any bow I've owned. However, I think I'm preparing to start parting with a few, just don't see much of a need in keeping this many at my age. I know I'll never shoot most of them again!

Mudd

I'm not putting anything in writing that my wife can read. Hope you understand!

I keep saying I'm not adding any more but I know of 3 that are coming and I still haven't had a chance to try a "built in sting follow Hill bow".

I will be trying to do some trading soon with a Jim Johnson "Legend" that's a little heavy for my shoulder at  66" 52@27", beautiful bow and flings and arrow nicely but after about 5 shots my shoulder begs me to quit.

God bless,Mudd

5 recurves and 5 longbows. I'm liking the longbows better, but still can't seem to part with any!

gregg dudley

I just got rid of 4 in the last two weeks.  That gets me down to ten.  Of course that doesn't count all the youth bows that are floating around the house or the bows my son and daughter claim as theirs.  I am actually trying to start trading or selling things that I no longer use.  It is a novel idea for me.
