Tred Barta arrows from 3Rivers. 30.5" @ 65-70 spine with 145gr on the front, 575gr total. They fly GREAT! I'm sold....carbons have been a pain in my butt since I started shooting over a year ago. I figured they would be a good "starter" wood arrow. One had a slight bend in it and with Gurus' straightening tutorial it was gone in a matter of seconds. I wish I had done this sooner.

I think I might try and build a set next.    :)

Best be careful about building them...it gets addicting.  :)

Good for you. You know, if you hold your bow up close to your ear, out in the silence of the wilderness, you'll hear it whisper to you, saying, "I want to shoot wooden arrows."

Wood arrows, wood bows, deep woods.

Trad is 60% mental & about 40% mental.

There really is nothing like the smell of a split cedar shaft. When I shoot at a deer target and destroy my arrow by deflecting off the tree branch that always seems to be in the way, I find solace in reflecting on life while I sniff the remains of my arrow. This year in Iowa I had a cow elk step on a blunt that I had fired into a gopher mound. I could not shoot shoot at the elk of course, but I still enjoyed the ceremonial sniff after the elk left.

Good on you for getten wood,It's like hitten puberty in trad archery. As mentioned by Rich (vtmtnman)crafting arrows is extremely addictive. My refrigerator and the tops of my kitchen cabinets are filled with arrows and arrow boxes.Don't let me get started on the cresting and dipping part...LOL

Just so you know...I didn't use a screwdriver, but a Bic lighter. Worked for me and was gentle on the finish.

i think wood penetrates better than anything else do to mass weight of arrow.after shot they tend to snap, but already done its job.they are addicting to make and shoot.some bows just shoot them better, quieter.enjoy the flight of wood...chris
