I knew it was probably a little too early to find the turks in the places I hunt. They usually don't move in till about the beginning of April. But with the weather so nice I couldn't help but get up at daybreak and take a walk hoping to see/hear some gobbles.

Yesterday's sunrise...
•

Didn't hear see a thing, but it sure was a beautiful morning!

This morning was another beautiful sunrise...

I was scouting turkeys till I saw this about 20yds. in from the edge of the orchard...
•

•

No stump shootin' on this mountain...
•

Some kind of bird kill, and from the scat, whatever killed it came back a couple days in a row to finish it off...
•

No better time of the year to read sign...
•

Again, no turkeys, but it's only a matter of time...stay tuned!

Had a similar hike here today.
Sorry didn't take the camera, or the bow, but did find an "Old" shed, all weathered and cracked, and two really nice big toms..
Just needed a "Woods Fix" after being cooped up for three months with snow and ice.

Looks like an awesome day and some good scouting for deer hunting next year.

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

I got in my first woods walk since the big melt and found one nice shed. Saw one tom on my place as I drove around to the back side, he was locked up strutting. It won't be long.

I'm with Tracy. Got My neck sunburned on Thursday when it was 65 degrees out. And now I've got 9-10 inches of fresh snow.

Bow season opens for Turkeys on April 1st I hope the weather straightens out by then.

Great pics. Curt, Thanks!

Snow everywhere - and turkeys April 1st?  We have about 10" of new snow here, does not seem like turkey season is close.
