I received a very long box in the mail this week from a fellow Tradgang member, my "New to Me" Cari-bow Tuktu recurve.  It is 60" in length, 56lb@28. The riser woods are cocobolo/ebony and the limbs are red elm. What a great bow, I love it. The handle melts into my hand and it draws very smooth and hits where I'm looking. I was a bit concerned with the weight but so far it is a non-issue.

There's a bit of a story with this bow.  I believe I am the fourth owner in about two months. It has spent more time in the hands of the US Postal Service these last two months than in the hands of the actual owners(lol).

I just missed buying this bow the first two times it was for sale and was getting frustrated with the whole buying process.  When the latest owner posted picks of his new purchase, I noticed he said that he was more of a 3 pc take down guy.  Although he said he loved the bow I thought I would send him a PM and indicate my interest in the bow if he ended up changing his mind.

Well, to make a long story somewhat shorter after about 3 weeks I got an email saying that the bow was for sale and that I could have first shot at it.  I pounced on it.

Ten days later I am the proud owner of my first custom Cari-bow recurve, something I thought wouldn't happen for a long time (raising a young family makes the archery budget pretty tight).  Thanks to Larry (Papa Bear) for a great price on a great bow, I really appreciate it.

I promise all Tradgang members that you will not see this bow for sale for a very long time! My Cari-bow was made in 2004 in Morden, Manitoba by Abe Penner, I don't know for sure but I would guess that it has spent much of it's life south of the 49th parallel. I am proud to say it's back home in Manitoba (to a good home).

Here are a few pictures of my "New to Me" bow.

Thanks everyone for your comments and complements.  Now it's my job to do the bow proud and harvest some animals with it.
