Well my girlfriend and i have decided to get married this summer, and we have decided on honey mooning in Hawaii    :)
I have ALOT of qusetions about the islands, but one of my primary questions is, is there anything/where to hunt in July??       We are going to be there from July 19/31. I believe we have picked the island of Maui to stay on. I have already got the OK from the wife to be to hunt for a couple days if there is any available   ;)   .
I have LOTS more questions if someone would be willing to humor me through a PM or a phone call. Thanks Bill

Do a search.  i have done a bunch of Hawaii trip photos stories on TradGang over the past 4-5 years.  One is recent.  Kauai is the honeymoon isle....use that to your advantage since there is awesome public lands hunting there!

DHR did a recent thread on TradGang on his honeymoon trip so search on his name too.  Doug Campbell and I did one just a couple weeks ago.

Also go to the Knowledge Through Experience section on the PBS (Professional Bowhunters Society) website as I recently did a loooong, multi-trip Hawaii Island feature over there.

Awesome Steve, i will dig into that stuff. Thanks a bunch, Bill

Hey Bill,

If you're interested in hunting kauai I might be able to help you out with some info, I was there this november and am going back in may.  There's alot of info on the various threads steve mentioned.  Haven't been to maui.....

Well, i have read a pile of threads in the last 3 hours here on TG and i "may" have convinced the wife into staying on Kauai insted  :)   :)
We are going to be there for 10 days so i will have a few days just for some "me time" , and it's a once in a lifetime thing for me as air planes scare the HE!! out of me  :(
Dan, hit me with any/all the ifo you can brother. I may just be getting more pumped to hunt there than honeymoon  ;)    Bill

Footed Shaft

Steve, i have lots of questions for you to, i will hit ya up in a PM.
I love this site, so many folks willing to help out a simple Canadian farm boy  :)

Steve H.

I'd be more worried about the drive to the airport!

My wife and I went to Kauai for our honeymoon and I did a 2 1/2 day hunt.  I wrote a 2 part article for PBS that I will send to you if you send me your email address.

Bowhunting on your honeymoon........you're a very brave man, lol.

Are you sure you have her permission, sometimes they say yes and mean no, it's a facial expression and tone of voice thing, guys that have been married awhile know what I'm talking about.

So you're saying they say stuff they don't mean?  Dang, I BLEW that one since I went hunting on my HM!!!

Danny Rowan

Hey,set the stage for the rest of your life together. A little hunting on the HM is not gonna hurt and you have to make her understand it is important to you and is who you are if she does not already know, Have fun. Trust me, if I could have gone somewhere like that on my HM I certainly would have taken a couple of days and hunted,LOL.
