Does anyone know where you can get the coat Paul Brunner used  to import, I am not sure on the spelling but it was something like Suwanni, I believe imported from New Zealand. My searches here and elsewhere are coming up with different products

Its Swanndri,  I just checked my coat upstairs. I like mine well enough well worn the cuffs are torn. Thought about haveing leather put on the cuffs. Its light weight yet thick weave NO Liner of any kind.  I've thought about another one over they years but have plenty of other coats to wear so I haven't Never hunted in mine, mine was the charcoal black color.

Yep, Swanndri.

Fatastic quality wool garments, by far & away the best I've ever worn. I bough mine while I was still in England & it wasn't too spendy then, even with the shipping from NZ.

I've got the Original Bush-shirt & I can honestly say, if the temperature is above -10 while active or above 20 degrees in a stand, it's too warm.

Lots of this stuff on the auction site.  Camo is hard to come by but good plaid patterns.  I love my Swanni wools!

Sierra Trading Post occasionally has Swanndri on sale.

Good stuff, though it's made in China now, if that matters to you.

I have one that is in the camo pattern, I get it lanolin treated every couple of years. Wind proof rain proof and great colors. I do not think they are available in the camo patterns any more.

Looks like what I had from Brunner(the Bush Shirt).
But I don't want the colors they have available.
I had it and loved it but it was tight on me when I bought it many years ago and I outgrew it and sold it to a friend.
Now I can't find the camo version.
Maybe its for the best, I may have to invest in an American version.
Yea, thats what I will do

Spectre

Its all about Swanndri for me, too. I love my green bush shirt.

the kiwis make good stuff. another kiwi brand to check out is stoney creek. it's the gear that is setting the standards by which others are judged down here in aussie and NZ. it's our equivilent of your sitka gear.

Why does the sierra site say china or New zeland for manufacture??   BILL

Funny, not one reference to traditional archery in this thread.

I wonder, how long will this thread stay alive before it gets quashed? It seems to have already passed at least 1 "QC" scan.

I think it would make a great traditional Bowhunting pullover shirt/jacket and just wondering if the string clears the bow arm using a recurve or longbow? Has anybody noticed?

Spectre....something on your mind?

Look at G. Fred's offerring of wool pullovers and Mackinaws they're pretty awesome and fair priced.I have a O.D. green Swandri waterproof and I love it,but,I can buy 2'3 of G. Freds for the price.

Pinecone

I've got a bush shirt and it is a quality garment.  If you love wool, you'll love a Swanndri.
Keefer, I use an armguard and have no problems with string clearance.

Swanni's are really tough--the Zealanders use them like we use Carhartts. They are worth every penny IMO.

I just wish I could find me a kilt in that wool, then I would be set.

Thanks Pinecone!
I've been eyeing the Swanndri for sometime now and I found one I really like with some greens and browns in it...I wish it had a baselayer of some softer material on the skin but I'm sure I could find something to wear under the wool...I might look like I have tuff skin but I can't stand a tag even touching my body or neck area...
