I just received a shipment of some Badlands Terra Glide travel cases and have added them to my website as a regular product.  I think this is the best piece of luggage that I have come across for flying with a takedown bow and arrows.  I had a customer order one, and have been intrigued by it for myself, so finally decided this might be a good product to carry.

The bottom section has a hard bottom and is large enough that a PVC tube full of arrows nestles right inside.  Plenty of room for a takedown bow (or 2) and pad it with extra clothing.  

It has an extra top compartment for more clothing, and exterior pockets for miscellaneous items.  There are built in wheels and a sturdy handle for rolling through the airport.

 

 


One of them from this first shipment went directly out of inventory and into my basement!

Very nice Joe.Couple questions I see camo only on your site and I do not like to travel with camo bags for a couple reasons.Will they consider solid colors?Also it is 38"long and other dim. bring it over 62" which is the limit or they will charge extra for oversize bag.Am I correct on this or can you classify this as sporting gear and maybe not be oversized.Not trying to be critical because is is a great looking bag and I like the length but the airlines might not.Kip

Kip, I agree with you that my preference would be for a non-camo bag, but that is not an option at least at this point.  The camo industry is hard to understand sometimes - I mean really, why would a person need a camoflauge suitcase??
But it is what it is, and I think the rest of the features make it a very functional pack.

The diminsions are 38x18x11.  I measured them and that is accurate.  I also wonder if the airlines would hit you with excess baggage charges because that adds up to 67", so is slightly oversize.  I have flown with duffel bags in the past that were larger than that and have never had a problem yet, but it only takes one gate agent that is a stickler for the rule book to change that.  It seems like they do weigh bags because it is easy to do when you set them on the scale, but I haven't had one pull out a tape measure yet.  I'm guessing that unless a bag is obviously way over they don't bother.  I sure would be interested to hear what others with more flying experience have to say.

Great packs...as far as luggage for hunting goes this was the best investment I have made yet. In addition to the Terra Glide I bought a Gear Bag from Joe which is another piece of top notch equipment.

As for the dimensions as long as you do not stuff it completely full it will never reach 62". Unless you get someone from the airlines that pulls on the bag to max out the size it will be hard to get it over the size limit. I measure it ever time I pack it and have only come in around 60".

As for the camouflage I would prefer a solid color as well but that was not an option like Joe already stated.

Even if it were slightly oversized, I am wondering how fuzzy the airlines tend to be with that. Has anyone ever flown with a bag that is slightly over the 62" and been charged for it?  I'm curious  :confused:
