Fellas, just wondering if anyone else has tried this. I've heard human urine will spook deer but i've also heard it will irritate bucks so when things were a little slow last season, i made a mock scrape and gave it a try. It fooled little bucks but i never had the big one come by. What do you think?

Same results I peed up some mock scrapes off trails and set up my trail cam just had little guys come in and hit it.

I try to entice real deer to pee in scrapes, does mostly. Usually, I leave a roll of TP and a copy of Glamour magazine right next to the scrape and they will come in and pee. I tried leaving a copy of Traditional Bowhunter but it spooked 'em.

I didnt pee in the scrape but off my stand near the scrape...a 150 and a nontypical came up and seemed irritated...I dropped my binos, rattle bag, and an arrow and these deer were 10 ft from my tree and didnt spook....they seemed fixed on the foreign smell

I have tried in a scrape and same results as above "little" bucks all under 150 which to me arent little but take it for what it is

Started using my own in mock scrapes about two years ago. I met a guy at a shoot who swore by it,said deer could not tell the differance, and that he had taken a couple of mature bucks with this method, starting scrapes as early as August. These storys were backed up by several of his friends shooting with him that day. Anyway,I have not taken anything big from these scrapes, but have large tracks, probably visited at night. Have had young bucks work scrapes while I was present, don't shoot young bucks, but have taken does from these scrapes who were checking them out. Hope this helps for you. Good hunting and pee away!

Just be aware of what you drink before hand. Coffee and some other beverages can give a strong off smell. Pound the water and you're good to go.

Many years ago while my wife was six months pregnant we went scouting in late September. As pregnant women must, she had to pee at the end of the woods road where we parked the truck. The next weekend there was a fresh scrape on the spot.

I pee in scrapes whenever it's convenient, and it hasn't hurt anything as far as I can tell. I've quit being concerned about where I pee in the woods. Near a stand, I scrape back the leaves and cover it up when I'm done, because I have known deer to react negatively to a fresh deposit.

My avatar plus 7 other bucks hit this scrape the night I tried it. Also one coyote was smelling it. You cannot see it in the photo since I downsized it but there is a buck just as big as the avatar standing in the background. I have tried it since then and had some results but not like this.

have done it for years....I drink lots of water and not much coffee or alcohol during the season and it seems to help...have had does, small bucks and several large deer come in and freshen up the scrapes.......seems to work with no harm......

I peed in an active scrape this year and the buck came in fast and thoroughly irritated. He scraped at it like he was about ready to pick a fight.

I think Barry Wensel said once that he had peed on several spieces of game animals at one time or another and none were spooked..I think pee is pee and if Deer were to spook everytime they encounter pee other than there own they would have no where to turn..

Hmmmm.

I've never tried going on an active scrape but have gone on the trail in and out before never paid attention to weather it brouth any deer in cause i usually use a trail that I see little to no sign on for my entrance and exit the my blind.

Might have to try it this year.

lpcjon2

I use a toilet...LOL but I have done it and had a response from a buck during the rut only once.

I tried it this year and the next day the scrape had been cleaned out completely, didnt seem to bother that buck at all.

Drink swamp water and eat acorns and it REALLY works well.

Seriously, I do it all the time in my mock scrapes and the bucks work them over just fine.
