You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

In all the years of running around down here in Alabama i have only found a handfull of sheds. Not sure if its because its so thick or i just dont put in the leg work. Man you guys must have some great deer to be finding sheds like that, congrads.

joevan, you probably are not doing anything wrong.  I have looked with friends in some of the southern states and it is extremely difficult to find them in those areas.

Stone Sheep

Tracy, I hope you find the biggest one of the year so you can have the last laugh!

Tracy,

What is your thoughts on that match set that your son found...Those brow tines are huge.  Is that just a young deer with tons of potential or old deer that has a poor rack?  Hard to speculate without seeing the deer but thought I would ask your opinion in case you had seen the deer this last season.

Cool no matter what!

Joevan, We don't find sheds every time were out at all. I hate to no how many miles I have walked and found nothing but it still feels good to get out of the house after a long winter.

Thanks Stone Sheep and everybody else  :bigsmyl:  We are still looking for some bigguns we saw last year and my son did see a big bruiser still packing while looking so there still dropping and will for awhile longer.

Chris, Like you said it's hard to know with out seeing the owner but it looked like a young buck rack and those brows are awesome. He really has some potential. They found that set at Danny's place so I will see if he has any trail cam picks of him.    :)

I did get out for a short walk yesterday by my house and did find one side of a rack but it was really chewed up. Here is what I saw first....

I wasen't even sure it was a horn till I got closer. I looked and looked for the rest but nothing.

Then about a 150yds farther under a big ceder tree I saw this.

Looks like a matched pair color wise. Sure hate to see them chewed up so bad but other critters need the mineral too.

Thanks everybody for looking, I hope we can find some more to show ya. Gives me a good excuse to get out and shoot some stumps and break in my new Mohawk bow before turkey season.    :D
