whats a crown cap is it different than just cresting an arrow what part of the arrow is it done on? thanx for the help

fillmorehd

A crown cap is either a different color of stain or a dip finish on the tail of the arrow.  It sometimes is as long as 8-10 inches.  the cresting is the painted pinstripes and bars that go over it..  You can crest arrows and not dip or stain them. I am sure someone will come along with pictures to show you. if not give me your email address and I will send you examples of both.

Its done on the knock end of the arrow and it is a complete paint cover that comes approx.10" down the shaft.Check out this post.

Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a
difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.
