missagain, Jay is a great guy to talk too. Give him a call and he'll tell you anything you want to know about his bows. It didn't take me long to get sold and I'll be ordering mine come Monday. I originally wanted a T/D longbow, Ancient Spirits too be exact, then I came across Jays website again and really started thinking.   :D

Wannabe1, I bought a #45-64" one piece for my son years ago. Not speed a demon, classic D. Jay's bows and workmanship are nice! I'm always on the prowl for a T/D for myself, I never see them. My son's bow has the laced suede grip wrap where as the girls bow has the skived? elk that Rob posted his pictures. Personally I perfer the elk wrap more, better feel and it stays cleaner less sweat stains. Get the T/D, or not    :bigsmyl:

Thanks Rusty. I am going for the elk wrap also but, going to stick with the one piece for now. I know what you mean about never seeing them. I was thinking today that I don't recall ever seeing one on the Classifieds.

SCATTERSHOT

I like my takedowns, but in all honesty, I hardly ever take mine apart. The feature does come in handy from time to time, though, and it stays tight.

My Jay St. Charles bow looks just like Rob's. It is 62" and 53#@28. Wonderful shooting classic American long bow. Jay is a great bowyer and you won't find a better person to deal with. You won't be sorry.

I have Jay's thunderbird recurve and the woods that he uses are some of the nicest selections that I have ever seen. Looks like an old fly rod. Great feel in the hand. very classic look.
you will not be dissappointed.

Wannabe1

I almost considered that Thunderbird recurve but, I'm a longbow guy at heart.   :)

Well, I was looking to buy my first straight-limbed bow and had narrowed it down to Craig at HH or Northern Mist.  Now I have a third bowyer to consider.

SCATTERSHOT

I know this is a St. Charles thread, but if I were you I'd go with a Hill. Price, beauty, tradition, good shooting qualities and fast turnaround all enter into the mix. You won't be sorry.
