In the Masters of the bow DVD it shows Barry Wensel shooting a Cabelas poltruded carbon arrow. The only ones I can find now are the carbon flash model from Beman. Anyone shoot these? The heaviest shaft is 7.2 gpi so at my 30in. draw i'm guessing i'll have a 32 in. arrow with acsessories it should weigh about 520gn with 250gn head. Out of my 50# ACS will this arrow even have enough spine?  :help:

They quit selling the SSTs a few years ago. They were much better than the flash arrows.I think the flash only comes in lighter spines.I have a few dozen on my SSTs left that I reserve for hog hunting.Best hunting arrow ever made.  :)

That's a heavy head. What also gets you is the long 32 inch length that does not make them stiffer than a shorter one. I have some similar shafts that weigh the same but are 29 1/2" and I do not have points that heavy either. I may run them through a 50 pounder with the heaviest points I have to see what happens, but I doubt this will be proper test results for your dilema.
I am sure someone will post with an answer that will let you know if you should get the shafts or not.

i've used beman flash in making up my daughter's arrows. they're just ok.

imo, the beman ics bowhunter shafts are by far superior, and cheap.  another good consideration are the ce predators from braveheart archery.

with a 30" draw, most carbons around will be 31.5" in length, and i dunno why you'd need a 32" arrow.  anyhoo, considering the arra spex you have in mind along with yer bow's holding weight i guess the 400 size spine might be a starting point.

or, you could spend the buck$ and get a 6 or 12 pack of ad trads and be done with it all.  they WILL work for ya.  no guess work.  period.

after all the theory, speculatin' and guess work, it always comes down to trial and error.  always.  good luck!  :wavey:

I shoot the beman mfx. You might look at them. They are skinny and heavy. They are alittle expensive.

Also the Easton Epics are a mid-priced carbon weighing in around 8-9 gpi... good arrows!
