hello all  just got a bear kodiak hunter from **** and was wanting to know what brace height  most of you use..  mine was made in the 70s i think it is green with the blue accent stripe serial #kh03502 amo 60"

Cody Schnettgoecke

My 68 Kodiak Hunter likes a 7 1/4" -7 1/2" brace height best. Hope this helps.

8-8 1/2 for that model.  I've got one myself and it certainly prefers the higher end.

Blackstick

Just checked my 1970 KH and it is set at 8 1/8".

The essence of the hunt for me is to enter nature and observe+ return safely occasionally with the gift of a life taken.

George D. Stout

A good starting point is 8".  You may go lower or higher, but you need to make it fit your comfort zone.  As you can see....there is a pretty wide variety here already. Pick the spot that is quietest for you and feels good on the shot.  It's not an exact science.  8^).

Mine is set at 8" but I don't know much. I'm still learning.Go with what George said.
