The go every where Marsh Buggy .... a bit chilly on the morning ride to the stands but what a view when the sun comes up ....

They never stand around like that in hunting season .... I think it would be nice to have a St Judes deer hunt added to the hog hunt.

Only a hog can run through this stuff. Palmettos I think must be Spanish for swords. I tried crawling through some of these and I'll tell you about it tomorrow ....      

To far away for me this guy would not come in closer then 25 yards. I really wanted to take this mohawk.

I was just thinking that. If youcan kill a raccoon you can kill that hog. I wish you would have got him is cool looking. I hate when the critters hang up just outside range.

Hogs? as my brother Pete said after his first trip here "There ain't no hogs in Florida" We were seeing deer and more deer.








I was able to capture this video of two bucks going on alert. Shows stiff leg, stomping, you will hear the young buck blowing over the traffic sound   Deer on alert  a Youtube Clip

I jump every year too! It is just so nice and relaxing waiting for the sun to come up in the Florida woods. Great pictures guys!

Seems raccoons are becoming my specialty I'm up to four now in the last month. Thought this recovery was a slam dunk until I found myself in a palmetto patch combined with thorns, briars and spiders.

Les, if you don't recover them, they don't count!

Jer I'll look through my pics but I think thats it for mine ... if you go back to Marty's thread " Guru Scores " you might find a better one, Curt took alot of great pictures.

As far as Racoons go I think you could shoot enough in a day to make Biggie a new snuggie, they were every where

Saw lots of Armadillos

My second night hunt was hampered by swirling winds and spooky deer. I had three deer come in first, feeding about five minutes and then all hell broke lose and they spooked. The wind was blowing across me but every once in a while it would swap right to the feeder.    

The deer drifted back, then would spook, then a few new deer showed up and they would feed nervously and then spook.

About 5:30 I had a really nice hog coming in from behind and to the right of me but he stopped at the 3 o'clock position and turned around and walked away after standing there for several minutes. He, or one looking the same, came back thirty minutes later under me and to the left. He was very cautious and stopped every few steps. Finally he went to the corn and nervously started feeding. He was there several minutes,a few deer came in from the right and away from me. As I'm getting ready to take a shot the deer spooked and so did my hog.

Not sure if it was the wind or my movement but off they went and the hog had enough excitement for one evening and did not return. The deer on the other hand came right back and stayed until Marty came to pick me up.
