I thought I had gotten away from aluminum shafts.  Now that I'm working up to a 70# bow, its looking like aluminum may be just what I need for both mass and spine.  What say others shooting the heaver weight bows???  H

I don't know how high of weight your shooting.  I'm shooting 2219 legacies out of a 71@ 29 elburg cheetah.  With 145 up front they shoot like darts.

I am shooting 2219s with 200 gr up front out of a 64# recurve and they thump the target. Runs about 680 grains total. Can't wait to try it on elk!

Yea, looks like the 2219s are the way to go.  I'm just not happy with carbon and weight tubes.  Too light an arrow causes more problems than they are worth.  The only thump I want to hear is - impact!  Funny though - I really did think I was done with aluminum.  I know that there are some carbons on the market that claim heavy weight - my experence tells me that their spines are not as consistant as they could be.  The AXIS DG Full Met. Jackets are just too small in dia. for my tastes - hard to get the fletching I like.  So - back to aluminum, the Rodney Dangerfield of shaft materials.  H
