big thanx to tom mussatto for translating these vids for me!          :notworthy:

July 29, 2009, Northern New Jersey

out the kitchen window there were two does eating the hydrangeas in our back yard, went to get the vid camera and they were gone, one had crossed the road and hopped the fence into a neighbor's yard.

so i figured to get up close and personal - with camcorder, not bow 'n' arra!

Neat video... When you whistled my buddy jumped up with this confused look on his face.

That was one hungry deer!  She looked pregnant or either full of the neighbor's flowers!

no hunting of any kind allowed in my rural suburbia. these deer mostly die from vehicle contact or the occasional coyote that swings down from the far north.  they're all big 'n' fat and have plenty to eat thanx to all the home gardens.  and as you can see, you can get up real close without spookin' 'em.  not at all unlikely to see a 6 to 8 herd of 'em sauntering down the road.

Great Video Work!! The Sad Part is when they DO get Hit By Cars. Destroys most New Cars, and the Passengers are just Lucky if they escape Injury. Plus, there is a Motherless Fawn out there somewhere. Tough Decision.

OK, now...

Does this qualify as a "high fence" hunt?   :goldtooth:

surprisingly to me, never saw anything larger than an 8pt, most are 4-6pt.

You have a beautiful yard.

But, what's with all the green grass in NJ?

Guru

That's cool buddy...never would have thought you'd ever have a deer in your yard after seeing it.

curt. they're *everywhere* in our small town, eating everyone's shrubs and flower gardens.  spring thru fall it's rare day not to see at least one, and typically in groups of 3 to 5.  that main drag you road down on sees some serious deer in the early morning and evening.  lotta construction over the decades, they just keep getting pushed further up the valley sides and into the surrounding hills.  we need some hunting over here.

dave, why would you think nj doesn't have green grass?  i mean, heck, we're the 'garden state'!  :)

Rob, those Bergen County deer sure are smart!    :goldtooth:   They know the difference between camera and bow.   :biglaugh:

Rob you held that camera pretty durn steady. I know I couldn't hold one that still without taking a tripod with me. That was really cool!!!
