Does anyone shoot Beman ICS hunter arrows? Just the regular black shafts that 3-Rivers has. Seems like a great priced carbon. Just curios about performance.  :help:

rraming

I use them A LOT. They are great and cheap. I actually have another half dozen in the jo jan right now with a 4 fletch!

What I like about them, is that since they are wider than the skinny carbon's you can easily find wood dowels to fit inside the shaft for extra heft. Also found metal rods that can also be inserted in the shaft for super weight.

Bought a doz. 2 years ago and liked them well enough when my son asked me if I wanted a doz. more, I said yes, they shoot great.

I use the 500's with brass inserts out of 45/50 lb bows. There easy to tune and pretty tough.Probably the best bang for the buck in carbon arrows.

ics venture/bowhunters are good carbons, tough, durable, more accurate that most any archer.  i use the 500's, have more than 6 dozen or so.

I have some of the 500, 400, and 340s, all are very tough shafts, seem to be the be the best for the money.

biglegmax

Can someone tell me the length of the .500 shaft?

biglegmax,

I think the full length shaft for the beman's are 33" according to their arrow sizing chart.

cchumley06

I use nothing else.  Cheap, durable, and easy to tune.

I just ordered more of them.  $43 a doz.  Hard to beat that for a shaft that will probably be around the next time you need them.

I would also like to know $43/doz source.

For those using these, what spine would you think for Predator #59@28, 28" draw, (shafts cut to about 30")with 225grn in front? Or 270grn in front?

boznarras

and do these use 5/16 brass inserts?

Ybuck

i shoot the 500's, full length. Great arrow, and price!

A quicl Google search should yield several vendors who sell those shafts for around forty to forty-five dollars per dozen. You may also want to check for closeouts on Hawk and Venture shafts, which are the same thing only with the older name.
