I thought you guys might appreciate this.  The Michigan Longbow Association's annual awards banquet was last night, and this was the cake that my wife and I made for their dessert contest (we've been watching too much 'Cake Boss' and 'Ace of Cakes' lately).  It was a red velvet, coconut cake, and every part of it was edible (and delicious, if I do say so myself).  All of the details were sculpted out of fondant and painted with food coloring.  It was the first time we tried decorating a cake like this, but we had a good time, and we already have an idea for next year's banquet.

Paul's cake was awesome! I took cell pics and it tasted good too! He placed in the top 3, but his was the best creation. It looked real.

That is one awesome cake. The dessert contest at the MLA banquet is on serious competition, can't imagine what beat you out. I want one ofthose for my birthday!
