I would like to get into archey I like the look of a long bow but dont know enough lingo about a bow to know what yall are talking about. I would like to get an easy to learn on bow probably used to start to see if i like it I know my draw length is 28" but thats it and what does shooting off hand mean and is it good to start with thanks

Buy a bow that has a shelf (where the arrow rests on) to start. Shooting off your hand (no arrow shelf) is something to do once you have experience.

Buy a inexpensive used lightweight bow.. Learn good form and good shooting will come.  Biggest mistake new archers commit is buying a bow with a too heavy draw weight...

When you find out what your draw length is and if it is 28in or under i would try and buy a Bear kodiak hunter.

You can find them very easy for less than $200.00 and it will be in great shape.

Then when you learn more about the sport you will have no trouble selling the bow so you can buy what you really like.

measuring your draw length , to how to install string silencers, etc.

imo. you are on the right track if you get a good used bow. Because, you can get a higher quality, bow with better performance and quality workmanship for less money.
On the other hand, don't knock a good mass produced bow, such as the Bear Montana longbow, the Martin savannah, etc. the only thing these bows don't have that a custom bow does, is getting to choose the option of riser/limb woods, and bow length.
