A few years ago I was looking for a Shrew long bow, I'd put a post up looking to buy.  After a few days I got an email from the now notorious "Bower" (Mr. J Powell) who offered to make me a shrew type bow if I purchased enough material for him to make 2 bows. Excited by the prospect I purchased a nice assortment of materials including a large expensive block of Midnight ebony Dymondwood. Wearily that deal quickly dissolved and although I stopped hearing from Mr. Powell he did send me some of my materials back including the Ebony Dymondwood. Unfortunately for me he had cut it into several smaller pieces...
Months later I got the idea to have a 2 piece made from the smaller pieces of Dymondwood. I called John McCullough and told him the story of the Black Wood and how I wanted to use it in a bow. He agreed that it could be done and the largest piece being cut in half would work well in a T/D griffin. So I got on his list.
A year past, I called John and discovered I was still a ways down the build list, more months go by and it's now January 2010. I call John, wish him happy New Year and I ask him were I am on the list. Getting real close now, but John decided he doesn't want to build the bow-bolt Take Down with wood any more now he only uses Phenolic...
O.K. so I'm stuck with this Black Wood that seemed too hard or too small to use for anything I want to do with it. So it's just sitting on a shelf in the garage.

Meanwhile I acquired an unassuming little bow in a trade; it had a camo dymondwood riser and black glass limbs. Not real special to look at, in fact I really didn't expect much.
But then I took it out to shoot and Wow! That little bow had spirit; it was putting 'em down range like a champ and hangin with bows I'd spent months saving up for.

Hmm, Lost Creek. How come I haven't heard about these before?

I found a review on line, looked up the web sight and sent Chad an email about my experience with his bow. I got a friendly response and right away discovered what a cool guy Chad is, after our first conversation I asked if Chad could build a bow with my Dymondwoodand. After a few generous conversations on the phone
he and I settled on a design that would make use of my pieces and the Lost Creek Black Wood was underway!
I had no problem selling the camo bow (and that almost paid for a new one!)

I am now the happy recipient of a new Bacote and Midnight Ebony Dymondwood

My experience with Chad and Lost Creek bows has been a real pleasure
I'm exceedingly pleased with the L.C. bows and I highly recommend them.
I have no doubt that these bows will be coveted for there quality and performance.
Lost Creek is definitely one to keep an eye on

Beautiful! Very Nice. Chad's bows used to shoot better than they looked, now they look as good as they shoot. He is one of the best guys I've had the pleasure to deal with.
It's just a matter of time before he has a long waiting list, he'll have no choice.
My 3rd Lost Creek should be here next week and I'm working out the details of number 4. I'm going to get mine now before I have to wait a year or so.

The secret will be out soon and Chads gonna get backed backed up in a hurry. I've owned well over a hundred bows and I can honestly tell you Lost Creek bows are right at the top. Chad is one of the best to deal with and he makes it a priority to get your bow done so he keeps his wait time down.

I was very happy to put an end to the cursed ebony Dymondwood. I must say, it looks a whole lot better in a bow than in your garage for two years. I personally don't think the wood is cursed, it was just waiting for the right person to bring it to life. I used the extra 12"piece in a recurve for my good friend Joel as he has been wanting a new recurve w/a black riser. Josh, I'm glad you like the bow, that's one tough looking longbow. Also, thanks to everyone on the nice compliments. I just try my best to build everyone the bow that they want and one I would be proud to own. Chad
