Anybody shoot these? What's your thought's? I can get these purdy cheap through a friend of mine. I shoot a 54 @ 28 pulled to 30 silvertip so I figure the 5575's should work! Any help would be great! Thank's, Jason

I shot them for a long time. The only thing to wantch with them is that they can very in weight 100gr between dozens. They are matched within the dozen but not from dozen to dozen.

You may want to add a little weight to them too.

Good shafts for the price.  The 55/75s should be okay for you if using 150-175 gr points with the aluminum inserts.  If you are going heavier up front you might want to try the 75/95s.  I shoot 250 gr heads and the 75/95s (30" total length)fly great for me drawing 29" from a Foley recurve pulling 55lbs.  I will start checking the arrow weights since Ferret mentioned it.

I've shot a lot of Gold Tip traditionals. There are two advertized models and also blems.  They advertise .003 and .006 straightness models.  I would hope you wouldn't find near as much variation in the .003 shafts.  I've checked a few dozen and I haven't seen the variations people talk about.  Some of it could be due to manufacturing improvements over the years.

I shot 5575's out of my 55@29 longbow with 145 gr. points.

I've used 35-55's and 55-75's in several different bows.  The heaviest bow for the 55-75's is a 57@27" HH but I use 100 grain brass inserts (arrows cut to 28.5) and 290 grain point for a total weight of around 650 gr. using Big Jim's camo blems.  I have spine tested and weighed them and have found them to be pretty consistent (at least the two batches I worked up).  They are tough and fly well for me.  With your longer draw length you might need to try the 75-95's depending on how much point weight you want up front.  I like FOC 25 - 30%.

Widow SA curve 55# @ 30". GT 5575 blems with 250 up front. Perfect on bareshafting. . . keep trimming off .25" at a time, then I shave the brass insert a bit (actually 240 gr. up front).

I've shot them for quite a few years and I think their ok.
Maybe not as consistant in wheight or spine as Easton,Beman or Carbon express,which are the other 3 brands I also shoot for a variety of reasons.
I buy pretty much on price first,and advertised spec's next.
I'd be happy to shoot GT trads for ever if it came down to it.

577 grains total weight average, 29.25"s 55/75 GT trad blems, 23.8% EFOC(250gr. front end w adapt and broadhead, plus footing 32gr 1" and insert 14gr) I am only using 4" shield cut feathers and they fly great. I don't have a scale but I think I am between 45 and 46#s @ my 27.25" draw. I do have a chrono and measured 14 shot average 161fps from my Robertson Vision Falcon.

If I use a spine calculator it say's I'm slightly over spined but they sure don't act like it? The bare shaft pops right in the group. I have used wood, GT pros and GT trads so I can't compare the GT trads against any other carbon shaft?

I like mine. I got some 55/75 blems from bigjim's. I had to mess around a bit to find the best weight combo for my setup, but I've got them flying well now. 100 grain inserts and 145 grain tips. That's witha  30" draw on a 62# bow.

 

First carbon arrow I went to. Still shoot them today and get good results;

How durable are they compared to the mfx classics?  I know they're more affordable.  I don't want to sacrifice performance for price though.

They are by far my favorites,and think you will love the 55/75s.They are tough ,staight and shoot great time and time again.I use the 100 grain brass weigth inserts and shoot a consistent 550gr.total weight arrow.The carbon express arrows are awesome ,also .They cost more,but have one more layer than the gold top,I think.Still havent tried the Grizzlysticks or the beamans.The nice thing is you can strpp the feathers and refletch them many times.Hard to do with woods.

i just switched to them and love them. I am using a 55/75 30" with 250 up front and 5.5" high back shields. they shoot great aout of all my bows.

I have shot them for several years, both with and without training wheels. They get some bad press from time to time, but I've never had a problem with them.

You're right on point! Great arrow with weight added upfront.Very cosistant and great value for the dough!!

I've shot them exclusively for 3-4 years now and never had any problems-love em!

I have had good results with blems that I purchased from Big Jim. I use the brass inserts total weight 484 gr. out of a 48lb. dye recurve at 28in draw. 35-55 gt.

Been shooting them for a year and no complaints.
