You might take a look at NW Oklahoma. We have tons of public land and some of it is close to the Kansas line.

John, did you check out West Virginia?  We have a plant in WV and I can get you a few names of locals that can give you an honest answer.  WV has/had the highest per capita deer population in the country and one of the shortest gun seasons.

By the way, I have been toying with the Zone.  When you follow the rules it makes your system run smoothly and you feel a lot better.  Because of my schedule I struggle sticking with it.  Thanks for suggesting it.

Let me know about WV.

grizzlyxx,  check out the google maps and click on satellite view....It will show terrain where you want to hunt, right down to the hollows and fields.

just wondering if anyone would be interested in a trad hunt in SE Ohio maybe  camp at lake hope and hunt wayne  and zeleski state forest  we could do a fri,sat and sunday hunt???  anyone game??

GingivitisKahn

hydrasport205 - you mean for next deer season? Can't commit to anything this early but that could be lots of fun.  That's a pretty part of the state.

grizzlyxx

Does any of the state parks have cabins for rent or only primitive campting? Certainly not opposed to primitive camping but sure would cut down on the amount of gear needed if cabins are possible.  It does cut down on being mobile if an area turns out not to be as good as you thought.

If you change your mind, come to Pennsylvania and help me hunt them.I am still looking and haven't found any yet.

Cabins at Blue Rock State Park. Not sure if they are open in the winter or not.
