I live in N.E. Arkansas which is the WORST place in the state for hunting and fishing; I have to travel to different areas of the state or travel to other states just to get into any kind of good hunting and fishing; well I came in a few months back and was extremely fed up so I put our house and 20 acres up for sale; sold the place and signed the papers yesterday saying goodbye to the home of 20 plus years;

I am 49 years old and life is passing by quickly; even at my age I still have a dream and decided that I will not let it die; my wife{of 31 years}and I are renting a duplex{very nice} for now until we see where we will go; I plan to stay with my current job{for now}but am looking real hard for a job that will allow me to enjoy and engulf the outdoors reguardless of where that job leads me;

Folks, life is just too short not to try and make your dreams come true; so here we go, wish me luck and stay tuned to see what happens next......  :campfire:

I admire a man with a sack...I mean uhhhh  :D

Seriously, good luck in your pursuit. I can vouch for So. Illinois having excellent game opportunity both big and small for a bowhunter. At least where I'm at the economy hasn't seemed to affect us much either.

Wow.  That takes a lot of cajones in this economy to do that.  Good luck to you, and I hope you find what you're looking for.

I gotta say you have a great wife to jump in like that with you.  Your right.  It is time to find your hunting and fishing paradise and then s ettle in for life.  Lots of good areas to go to.  God Speed and Good Hunting.

Great for you and best of luck.  Thought the same thing many times.  Well 19 more years to get my youngest through school, hopefully I will still have my health to get out of the burbs!

Jim now in Kentucky

Way to go! I'm doing the same thing. Already bought a place in Kentucky and trying to sell my place in Maine.

Kentucky's hunting and gardening beats Maine all hollow.

I'm from Northwest Arkansas.  Just head west on 412 untill about Hunstville or so and stop there.  More good, avalialbe, hunting and fishing than you can do in two lifetimes.  I've spent plenty of time in NE Ark.  I know what ya mean.  Not much of a place.
