I just bought a new longbow and it's about 6 lbs lighter draw then my other bows.  It's 50#@28, tsplus string, 29 inch arrow. Which would best, a 35/55 with a 100 grain insert and a 145 grain head or the 55/75 with 100 grain insert and 145 grain head.  Let me know what is working for guys with a similar set-up. Thanks guys!

I would think the 5575 would work better.  Using Stu's calculator it comes out pretty close.  I am shooting a 55#@28" Morrison longbow and my arrows are set up 29" long 100 grain insert with 125 grain heads and they fly great.

Also with the 5575 if they are a little stiff yet you can leave them a little longer than 29" and get them to tune right.  I think with 245 grains out front the 3555 are going to be to weak from the start.

I think it all kinda' depends on your bow and the amount of distance your shelf is from center.  I have shot bows that are 55# and shoot a weighted tip 55/77 and I ahve also shot some that were 55# and used a weighted tip 35/55.  Alot of this will depend on your release also.
Just go to a bow shop buy some weights and different weight points and try both.  There really is not a one size fits all for trad stuff.

I shoot 53# longbow with 3555's 30 1/2" long with 175 grain tip.LH

Over&Under

That is the exact poundage of my longbows, and I shoot full length 3555 with 100 grain insert and 125 grain head - they shoot almost perfect!  On my 3555 trads I have to bump up the tip weight a little because of the trads being a little stiffer.

I agree that the 35/55's with std insert or 50 grain brass should shoot great!

I shoot the 35/55 out of 50@28 w/100gr. insert and 145gr. head myself.  When I hunt I use the 150gr. two blade Stingers.

The 55/75 with a spine of .400 seemed too stiff but I didn't know if it would break down with the heavy insert and point.  Anyone know what the spine would be on the 35/55 with a heavy insert and point would be?

3555
What Jake said. All my bows are 50 lbs and the 3555's with 100 grain inserts and 125 gr points fly really well. The 5575's were too stiff for my setups at my short draw. My arrows are cut to 29".

I just switched to a 3355 , umm the 5575 was to stiff. I shoot a 50# bow and the 3555 work well with 225 of point wieght on them , but thats just me?
