Can you use fletch tape on wood arrows or do you have to use something else?

Thanks for the help,
David

I was told that it works great.I have never tried it

Fletch tape works fine.  You may want to put just a little dab of glue on the front of the feathers as this is where they will tend to life and possibly peel.  I haven't had it happen a lot (once, actually, before I started taking preventive measures), but it can.  You can put a spot of Duco or superglue or whatever on the very front or, if you are going for a "primative" look, you can wrap the front little bit with sinew or thread (waxed dental floss works).  I just got with a glue drop anymore.

I use it all the time down here, and glue both ends of the feathers. I have noticed in the hot of the summers, (those 100 degree days in succession) that sometimes the tape will lift. Not always but.....

yea glue the front and back of the feather and if it worrys you go ahead and put a drop in the middle of the feather it will hold it from lifting in hot weather put it works great on all shafts that i have used it on if you put them on shafts that where sealed with bohoning laqur or paint use the fletch tite platinum it holds better to it

Works great!  I don't even need to glue the back and front.  Never had one pull off.

I even use it on cane arrows.  Just be sure to glue front and back tips down. (mentioned above)
