Cool.  At the risk of once more showing that I'm as trad is I wanna be, bet my recurves set up with Sims String Leeches are more quiet, not to mention much more visually subtle in the field...

thanks everyone, this possum would definatly be like high dollar if there were such a thing, lol.  It was just a all around great looking critter, normally they are like giant rats, but all the ones I have seen around here in the farmland, are puffy, and cudely!

Doctari... I believe Larry @ Lost Nation carries them...888.800-7880 along with several other types of fur.

a company seriously makes possum silencers!  I suppose it makes sense they have some good fur for silencers, and they are cheap!

Yes,I have a pair that I got at Denton hill several years ago on a pearson bow that I don't shoot a lot not sure if too much of something was used in the tanning process but mine thinned out fairly quick, weren't as durable as the beaver but did do a good job while they were on.Hopefully you'll have better success with yours good job on finding a use for a "worthless" hide and putting the effort into working up one of the greasiest animals there is to skin, flesh out etc.

yea I dont know how mine are gona do, I didnt really soften the hide any, so it was kinda stiffish, I softened it without oil, so it is not at all soft, but flexible.  So we will see.  I still have till the 15th of march to catch my buddies pesky beaver, so then I might have beaver balls for life!!!  If not I am definatly going to try and catch at leaset a muskrat, he has them pretty thick over there too.  So I will finally get to set some traps today for them!
