I'd like to take my son on a hunt but since the cost for elk, moose etc... is so outrageous I thought a hog hunt might work.  Anybody know of places where the chance of seeing hogs would be good at a decent price?

Ray Hammond's Hog Heaven or 7th Age Bowhunting...check sponsors classifieds.

Both get high reviews on here.

There are hogs all over the country, where are you thinking.

Most would never think it, but a self-guided hog hunt on the Tejon Ranch here in Southern California is about the prettiest place on earth that those little boogers call home.

300,000AC of free range elk, deer, turkeys, lions, bobcats, yotes, and of course hogs.

The ranch is about 90 mins north of LA.  A truly special place I try and hunt at least twice a year.  The license and tag are about $200 total, and depending on whether you can get in on their unguided archery hunts or not, the cost would be about $500-$650 for license, tag, and the "trespass fee".

I have hunted pigs all over the south and Texas, and the scenery and adventure of being basically on your own there is impossible to rival.

My dad has a big lease in Georgia with hogs on it, and is still ticked off that his and my schedule won't let him come here and hunt there this year.

look at their wild pig management hunts and see if your schedule fits with it. I'll gladly tell you all I know and maybe be there that weekend to help get you and your kid on the pigs, and into an adventure you will come back to every year.
Give me a bow a topo and two weeks, and I guarantee I kill two weeks!

I just got back from  www.osceolaoutfitters.com  and it isa great place but he is usually booked solid with repeat customers which tells you something. If you wantto know how a hunt goes check out my thread "So many pigs so littletime"

We I haven't hunted with Ray or curtis, Nor do they pay me to talk nice about them so here is the Unpaid and not so nice view..

Both Ray & Curtis talk to you like one of the family. They are know-it-alls, but don't come off that way. I have never heard anything bad about either one of these fine gentlemen. Both show you a great time and try their best to Teach you something about hogs.

You couldn't ask for better guides in their neck of the woods.

Headed down next week for eith trip with Curtis. That should indicate my opinion on this one. I like killin hogs and Curtis lives (he lives sleepin, eatin and hunting hogs) with them so he knows them like nobody else!
