how much weight is removed by changing the bevel from 30 to 25 degrees? so if I take a 125gr head and change the bevel to 25 deg. what should it roughly weigh?

Depending on the individual head, I lost 5-10 grains by just changing the bevel.  

I imagine the weight lost on your 125 grain head would vary depending on the length of the cutting edge and the metal used in the blade.

It would also depend on the thickness of the blade.KME changed the angle on some 190 Grizzlies for me and they ended up 175-178 grs..Keep in mind that the grizzlies normally come heavier than the stated weight.you can lose 5 grains just by sharpening a head.

I would expect at least 10 grains.You didn't say if it is single bevel or double.It also takes a really good steel to support a long,25 degree single bevel.If the steel is milder,you might be better off with the 30 degree.

I got some new Griz at Kzoo and they were 200 grn with a 25 degree bevel from the factory and both L & R wing bevel available. Good stuff.

Are they really that hard to find? I haven't looked for em. Just dumb luck I guess. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good!

I taught that 3riversarchery had them in stock!

kwyk styk, that is what they said to me on the phone but the old style arrived in the mail(rw 160s).  I thought about returning them, but decided to use them and get the new version the next time I order shafts from Allegheny Arrow Woods.  I finally got a decent file and cut my sharpening time enormously.

I would love to get some 200 grain left bevels.  I have just about given up an I am thinking Abowyers since they have what I need in stock whenever I am ready to order them.

It has only taken 5 years for the Grizzly folks to realize the bevel is wrong, and more than half the world uses left wing feathers.

About 5-10 grains, I agree, but certainly there is a lot of room for variation here.  If you just took off the diffence in the bevel, it would be very minimal.

Allegany was the vendor at Kzoo selling the Grizzlies.  Orion picked up a package of LW's for me.  I just setup and arrow using a 200 gr. LW Griz., 100 gr. steal BH insert, 100 gr. brass arrow inserts in a CX 300 for an EFoC of 28% for a total arrow weight of 688 grains...pinwheel flight!  The new  Grizzlies are ground nicer, have better tips and are just little more refined all the way around.  I love em!

Yes Bjorn I agree, although I did get a RW clamp years ago just to use the RW Grizzly's.  As I said above though, I love these new 200 grain LW's.

1. nice shape

2. really tough

3. good price

4. time tested performance (see 1& 2)
