I just ran across a receipt from a bow that I had bought last summer for some swapping around. This was the year I graduated..........before I knew about the traditional sickness. Bowhunters Warehouse in Wellsville Pa sold a Custom Kodiak Takedown with a set of 60 lbs limbs for $218. Hence the cliche.......those were the good ole days.

Ah yeah I remember Bowhunter's warehouse...They always had the ads with a ton of stuff listed at good prices.

Wish you could still buy a Kodiak for that.

I turned 14 that day...

I used to shop BW catalog a lot.  Do you remember the Anderson Archery catalog?  I spent alot of money with Anderson over the years...

My first bow was bought from them too! I liked their ad and the way it looked.

Great day - my birth day (not that year) and right about when the bucks really start pushing here in Montana - more often than not I hear my first good set of tending grunts on my birthday - one of the best birthday gifts a guy can get.

I'm sure I was setting in a tree stand somewhere, as that was the middle of the rut!

Used to be a good store. I bought Sasquatch broadheads from them for about $12/6......a long time ago.

reddogge

Since that store was in my territory I'd swing by there when I got the chance.  Always a fun place.

You back to shooting yet Richard? How did that Tice and Watts work out?

reddogge

Yes Steve the elbow came back 100%.  It may be stronger than it ever was.  The Tice and Watts is a very smooth drawing fast bow.  It took a while to find the brace height it likes but once I did it quieted down and performed great.  Didn't get a chance to hunt it this year though.

Good luck with the bow sales.

My friends and I bought a bunch of Martin Hunters from them in the early 90s. Every year they would list the past years models on sale for $90.

Irish Archer

Yep,

I bought two of them in about Feb/Mar '81 at Woolworths' for $199.00 each. Don't have either one of them now......Oh well.
