Have the opportunity to pick-up a Martin Hatfield T/D Recurve for a really decent price.  I was able to shoot the bow today and was quite impressed with the workmanship, the feel and how the bow shot.  Was wondering if any of you had any experience with this bow or info on Martin and their Traditional Line of gear, past or present.  Any likes or dislikes or anything else that may be of assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

I'm in the middle of refinishing one for a customer right now and I agree, it is a very nice bow!  Very classy looking, and like you say, the workmanship is very good.

Martin bows are some of the finest bows made today production or not!

Whip, yes I was quite impressed with the workmanship, pretty much flawless...I was concerned about the support for the bow..ie. getting another set of limbs, so I called Martin and they said that I could get another set of limbs in about 3 weeks if I went through a Martin dealer.  That eased my mind quite abit, since the ones on the bow are about 5# heavier than I prefer....thanks guys..

I've had a couple Mambas.  Martin makes a very nice but grossly over-priced line of trad bows.

Don't know what kind of reasonable price you have going, but the usual sticker price of a new production Hatfield puts you in the ball park of darned high end customs like the Great Plains SR Swift and ILF stuff like the Dalaa and upper end Trad Tech offerings...

The Hatfield feels like a Hunter, but with the added benefit of TD. Zippy bow.

I just sold mine to fund another bow. They are very fast and great looking bows. I never had anything but good coments from other people who shot mine.

Good bows, but not only overpriced, they do not hold their value well.

Well they seem to be holding thier price over on a auction site I visit

Martin Hatfields are great bows. I've shot a bunch of hogs and small game with mine.
I shot a hog on video with it on Bill Langer's Traditional Adventures V.
The limbs are readily available though auctions, I bought a set of 55# to go with my 50#.
It's a fast, solid, good looking takedown bow.

I own a hunter and savanna. i think the hatfield t/d well be my next bow.

I appreciate all the input, and with this being a brand new 08 model at just over $400 tax, title and tags I think that it is something that should'nt be passed up...tks all...

I shot a brand new one once, and until I looked at the price I said "I gotta get me one of these."

As good as any other bow for the same amount of money. Most bows being made today are well built and shoot great. It all comes down to Fit and Feel. Some bows have different wood options and upgrades. When it comes right down to it, if you like it,and it works for You, that's all that matters.
