Dave Doran at Archery Past(541-388-8400) uses the excellent Douglas Fir from Surewood Shafts among others and has been "footing" for awhile, good guy too.

If you like 2-wing footings, they are pretty easy to make yourself.  It takes a little time..but it's a good winter project.
